On Monday, May 26, 2025, Vision Australia Radio partnered with Vision Store to showcase an exciting range of products and services at the ATSA Independent Living Expo held at the Melbourne Showgrounds in Flemington, Victoria.

The two-day event was a unique opportunity to demonstrate how technology and media can empower the blind and low vision community to live more independently and stay informed. At the Vision Australia and Vision Australia Radio exhibition space, attendees explored assistive technology designed to support everyday living, while learning about the various ways Vision Australia Radio makes news and information accessible - through radio, podcasts and alternate format production for people with a print disability.

Vision Australia Radio’s Community Engagement Coordinator, Jason Gipps, said the response was overwhelmingly positive. “We were taken aback by the sheer size of the event and the large numbers of occupational therapists and members of the public who spoke to us to learn more about supports for Australia’s blind and low vision community,” Jason said.

“We’re grateful to the event organisers for featuring us at the Expo. It was a fantastic opportunity for Vision Australia Radio and Vision Australia to collectively promote the products and services available to the community across our beloved organisation,” shared Vision Australia Radio and Audio Manager Conrad Browne.

The ATSA Expo attracted thousands of attendees from across Australia, New Zealand and even Asia. Participants included therapists, carers, families and individuals eager to explore the latest innovations in assistive technology.

Vision Australia Radio along with Vision Store looks forward to partnering with ATSA at future events.
