On this special day, tweens and teens will embark on a unique culinary and crafting adventure, guided by a transdisciplinary team of allied health professionals. They will take on the challenge of "cooking without looking," developing their senses of touch, smell, and hearing to navigate the kitchen with confidence, while also maximising their use of residual vision.
They will measure ingredients by feel, practice careful hand placement for safe chopping, and rely on organization and problem-solving skills to adapt recipes.
Through this immersive experience, participants will strengthen essential life skills – including spatial awareness, teamwork, mathematics and kitchen safety – all while collaborating in a supportive and inclusive environment.
