Event Description

Bibliotherapy is the practice of reading books, short stories, poetry or non-fiction to support, guide and comfort us during challenging times.

Join our vibrant community in this monthly online series, where you can experience the nourishing power of words and foster common connections by immersing yourself in listening to and exploring stories. This shared experience empowers us to explore the thoughts and feelings that these stories present to us and, in doing so, offers us the opportunity to be curious about our own stories.

Led by esteemed bibliotherapist Dr Susan McLaine who will read out selected texts and lead guided reflection, these Mindful Reading sessions are also an opportunity to meet like-minded Vision Australia community members in a safe space.

Mindful Reading is open to Vision Australia Library members aged 18+ and runs online over five monthly sessions from 2:00pm – 3:00pm AEST on the third Monday of the month:  August 19, September 16, October 21, November 18, and December 16.
