Everyone has the right to feel safe and secure in their own home and more broadly, within the community.
For this reason, we are thrilled to announce that Vision Australia have partnered with Crime Stoppers to host a range of information sessions for people who are blind or have low vision.
Operating throughout Australia, Crime Stoppers plays an important role in community safety. The organisation works with the general public and other stake holders to gather information to assist police with crime solving and crime prevention.
In the information sessions, Crime Stoppers will share advice and tips related to safety in the home and crime prevention.
Facilitated by Vision Australia and Crime Stoppers staff members, the first sessions will run on Wednesday the 29th of March, from 10:30am – 12:00noon and from 7:00pm – 8:30pm.
The sessions will be delivered by telephone and focus on safety around the home, including how to help prevent intruders, how to protect your home when you’re away on holidays and how to spot scams.
